doglover120universe asked:
Is Agni close with any of his siblings’ children or their descendants? I know you said he’s mostly a loner but with how much he valued his uncle I wonder if he felt inclined to step up as an uncle to any of his siblings kids. Was Kartikeya close to his aunts and uncles?
You’re full of good questions, Doglover! This one is a bit trickier to answer, as we’ll (hopefully) see some of Agni’s patriarchal pride/duties in Part Four, and we’ll also learn more about the timeline of his regression. That being said, he really started disassociating from existence after the Last War (about 500 years ago). He only had energy for Skanda, and his duties as the family head began to go neglected. Before the Last War, he took his role quite seriously and was always a reliable source whom the younger members could approach for guidance. He was closest to Prithvi’s son and descendants, though Vayu certainly had enough offspring to keep him plenty busy.
As for Kartikeya: Kartikeya is a palace brat who was raised by Svaha (and Tvastr), and, as we know, Vayu dwells around the palace more often than his siblings and could be considered the uncle who is closest to him. However, Kartikeya is also closest to Svaha’s and Tvastr’s family. It hasn’t been touched on yet in Triloka, but we’ll find out more about Tvastr’s family situation (it is quite extensive).
Thanks so much for the Ask! 🤍
