Thank you for answering all my previous questions. I do have some more for you though if you don’t mind. I am obsessed with the Four and their family dynamics. No need to rush and answer these either, so take all the time you need. Your other response will keep me fed for a while.
Why was Agni the family head if Vayu is the oldest? Will we eventually learn why Vayu is so close to Indra ? Will we meet Vayu and Prithvi’s consorts and children in the later parts? Which sibling is Varuna closest too? Was Skanda close to any of his cousins?
I don’t mind at all! Real life is just demanding more of my attention lately, which is why my responses may not be as quick as I’d like. I absolutely love your questions, and I’m so glad you’re enjoying the character dynamics between the Four!
Why was Agni the family head if Vayu is the oldest?
The Four aren’t far apart in age to make much of a difference in this particular matter. However, there is a reason Agni was the family head, and Vayu had some musings on this in Part Three: Imminent:
There was an unmistakable rivalry between Indra and Agni.[. . .]No, if Vayu had to wager a guess, he’d assume the contention stemmed from the bloodlines. The age-old rivalry: Trimurti and Adityas.Indra and Agni were of the second generation of their family, and while they were not the eldest of that generation, they were both fierce patriarchs. They took family pride to another level that extended back to when they were fledglings training to participate in warfare.Vayu believed it was trivial. There was no contest. The Trimurti blood was vastly superior.
Just from that blurb alone, you get the idea that while Vayu is proud of his family, he doesn’t experience it to the same degree as Agni, who was ready to fiercely represent the Trimurti family even as a young fledgling. Much of this originated from his time with his reclusive uncle whom he respected a great deal and wanted to make proud. His uncles/father appointed him their representative when they weren’t present, and Vayu and Prithvi found no qualms about Agni’s appointed (and self-appointed) position. The other sibling who may match the intensity of Agni’s family pride is Varuna. Like Agni, however, past tragedies and experiences have led to a more secluded existence. His consort is far more active in Svarga’s society these days.
Will we eventually learn why Vayu is so close to Indra?
We will! Maybe not all the details, but we’ll get the bigger picture in Part Four—or at least subtle mentions of it 😉
Will we meet Vayu and Prithvi’s consorts and children in the later parts?
There may be mentions of them, but Vayu’s family will be a very minor part of the plot. His previous lover will be more relevant than his ex-consort and descendants. Prithvi’s consort has passed, but there will be mentions of him and her son. Triloka will be focusing more on the history behind the Trimurti founders, the Four, the complex mess of the Aditya family…and, of course, Ezra and his family issues.
Which sibling is Varuna closest too?
All three brothers were/are enamored with their sister. Aside from Prithvi, Varuna is closest with Agni. They may bicker the most, but they share an affinity with each other that extends back into their youth. They also share many common experiences that will be addressed in detail in Part Four.
Was Skanda close to any of his cousins?
Skanda had decent relationships with his cousins, but he was closest with his first cousin once-removed. We will meet her in Part Four😌
Thanks so much for the Ask! As I said, I love the questions, and I’m always thrilled to discuss more details of Triloka 🤍
