Hi đđž Why are the four the only acceptable gods of worship in the mortal realm. Considering that gods like Indra exist who are on par with the four in terms of power, how did it come to be that only the four are worshipped.
Also according to Agni Brahma is the god of creation and he created the mortal realm and the mortals dwelling there so why is it that he is not recognized but the four are. Are any of the other gods envious of the four, since mortal worship make gods stronger and they seem to be the only gods that have that
Heya, Meerkat! That’s an excellent question.
Brahma may have created the mortal realm and those who dwell there, but he also tasked The Four to play a significant part in building the mortal realmâs foundations. They brought nature, created cultures, and even blessed mortals with powers specific to their platforms. Ezra once asked the same question to Beck, the Noir User guru. Why are The Four the only gods worshipped? Beck explains it best: âBecause that is how mainstream religion was established. Though there were various ancient religions, worshiping The Four goes back as far as history denotes. It is clean. It is accepted. The Noir Users are the only ones in modern times who may dabble with worshiping the other gods.â
There is potential for other deities to be envious of The Four, certainly. However, the vast majority donât want to ground to the mortal realm and put in the time or effort to establish a base large enough to gain traction. The Four have staked claim long enough in the mortal realm that they wouldnât take kindly to new deities trying to take their territories and worshippers. Those deities who have dabbled with influencing mortals are typically the ones that the Noir Users have worshipped in the past. Other gods and goddesses have since become âuncleanâ to mortals, who fear even the possibility of worshipping another deity aside from one of the four siblings.
And remember, just because mortals donât actively worship other gods doesnât mean they donât fuel those deities who represent a specific platform. For example, anytime a mortal feels particularly envious, it gives a temporary power high to the Goddess of Envy. Same with war. Same with death. And so on.
As for Brahma: His name isnât as well-known among mortals as it once was. But I assure you, Brahma does not need mortal worship. We will learn much more about him and the other members of the Trimurti in Book 4 and 5. The same goes for Indra. He reaps some mighty benefits from his own realm for being the King of Gods. He also likes complete control over the three realms. The fewer deities who meddle in the mortal realm, the tighter his sovereignty. He may have some gripes against Varuna and Agni at times, but he likes the predictability of having just The Four as the principal deities influencing the mortal realm.
